What Is An Aardwolf?

An aardwolf volleyball player is tenacious. He or she devours the details of the sport of volleyball to develop into a player that will be an asset on her high school volleyball team.  For more information about what it means to be an aardwolf, ask an aardwolf!

Aardwolvesssss focus on our five core values: Self, Social, Scholarship, Sport, and Service.  As aardwolvesssss we are each appreciative of who has helped us to be what we are.  We embody the spirit of Ubuntu.  Ubuntu is a South African pihlosophy that, broken down, means "We are because of you."  Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can't exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can't be human all by yourself, and when you have this quality – Ubuntu – you are known for your generosity.

We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole World. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity.

An aardwolf, the mammal, native to parts of South and East Africa is a devourer or termites.  The name “aardwolf” means “earth wolf” in the region’s Afrikaans language.  For more information about the creature the aardwolf, check out Wikipedia’s aardwolf at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aardwolf/
